The 7,500 acre Flying J Ranch is nesteld in the nationa's largest migratory elk herds. It ranges from 6,500 to 9,000 feet in elevation. 

 

Located only 9 miles from the town of Meeker Colorado, this beautiful lodge is located right in some of Colorado's finest scenery.  Nesseled at the base of the Valley floor, the R LAzy J Lodge is Surrounded with large Natural Meadow Grass Hay Fileds, oak, Juniper covered draws and hill sides leading to some of COlorado's finest Big Game hunting.  Ever dreamed about laying in bed listening to the Elk bugle outside the doors?  Look no farther as this spacious 4 bedroom three bath facility can provide all of the ammenities a person could dream of while expreiencing a true Western Adventure with QRS Outdoors.

With approximately 200,000 total acres, including 12 miles of private water on the Sweetwater River, the Split Rock Ranch is located in south-central Wyoming on the historic Oregon, California & Mormon Trails between Casper and Lander.

 

Approximately 36 miles north to south and 13 miles wide, this incredible ranch has very diverse terrain ranging from scenic timbered mountains and canyons to river bottom along the Sweetwater River. This ranch also includes rolling open grasslands, canyons and high rock ridges and the best food plot in the west: 620 acres of irrigated alfalfa meadows.

Brimming with endless western scenery and wildlife, and appropriately called the "American Serengeti," the Split Rock Ranch’s elevations range from 6,700 feet along the river to over 9,200 feet on Whiskey Peak, which is part of the Green Mountain Range.

 

Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife:
A resident elk herd roams freely in the alpine mountainous regions of the ranch, while mule deer, white tail and large numbers of pronghorn antelope reside in the lower sage and grasslands on the ranch. Twelve miles of the Sweetwater River create abundant fly fishing opportunities for brown and rainbow trout. The ranch also hosts a rare herd of approximately 200 wild horses.

 

Location:
Split Rock Ranch is situated in central southern Wyoming along the historic Oregon Trail in Carbon, Fremont, and Natrona Counties. The ranch is approximately 50 miles north of Rawlins, 80 miles west of Casper and 80 miles south of Lander near Jeffery City - a few hour's drive from the resorts of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. US Highway 287 provides year-round access to the ranch with private air service in Rawlins, Riverton or Lander and commercial service in Casper.
